Full of books to take me places I've never been before,
Or places I'd like to visit some more.
Once inside, I let my imagination run free,
What will I find? Where will I go at the library?
Shelves full of inspiration -- I can't explain my fascination,
Each word leads the way to an unknown destination.
As I run my finger down the spine of a book,
I remember the last adventure I took.
Everyone who works there is so very kind,
If I can't find what I am looking for this time,
They'll look too, asking other libraries all around,
Then let me know if my request has been found.
I love to be the first date stamped on the back,
That means no one else has had it off the rack.
I know as I walk out the door,
I'll be back real soon to check out some more.
